On The Coast - Unique Piece

The Painting "On The Coast" is a unique piece (without collection) which seeks to represent the calm and the strength of the ocean in its endless landscape in contrast with the solitude of human creations, the lighthouse and the adjoining dwelling. The cold but more or less dense colors make it possible to create relief and movement in the scene while giving more strength to the roughness of the rocks on the shore. The contrast is made on two scales, first of all, the end of a terrestrial world towards an aquatic world, then by the difference in scale between the constructed elements compared to the natural context. The white color in the sky also makes it possible to reinforce the presence of the lighthouse and highlight its solitude but also its majestic aspect by a vertical momentum which overhangs elements of an unnamed power which it resists. A slight contrast is also made in the color of the dwelling and the rest of the painting representing the tiny part of domesticity in the scene. The painting is made using watercolor techniques to suggest and leave more room for imagination and the projected force of the elements.
